The new Mustang GT with its long bonnet, prominent front apron, blunt rear and coupé-style roof line is based on the traditional American 'muscle cars'. Tradition has also been adhered to in the interior. The centre of the steering wheel bears the horse trade mark like its predecessor and it has the same large round instruments. However the lively 8-cylinder engine (4.6 litres, 300 bhp) has been completely redesigned and has a voice that thrills. The GT accelerates from 0 to 100 in just 5.2 seconds.
